Heating and cooling incentives in Utah

  1. Obtain a heating and cooling incentive application package from us or a Wattsmart® Business Trade Ally. The package includes the general application, application supplement, and IRS Form W-9. Pre-qualification is recommended but not required.
  2. Purchase and install a qualifying unit at an eligible location.
  3. Submit your incentive application package with IRS Form W-9.
  4. Receive incentive check within 45 days of completion of step 3.

Advanced rooftop unit controls

  1. Obtain an advanced rooftop unit controls incentive application package from us or a Wattsmart® Business Trade Ally.  Pre-approval is recommended but not required for advanced rooftop unit control applications.
  2. Purchase and install qualifying controls at an eligible location.
  3. Submit your incentive application package with IRS Form W-9.
  4. Receive incentive check within 45 days of completion of step 3.

HVAC Check-Up

HVAC Check‐Up incentives are available to customers implementing qualifying measures through approved HVAC contractors. The initial assessment report is free and details steps for participation and required documentation.

The HVAC contractor will guide customers through the implementation process, gather needed data for incentives, and provide the necessary documentation for incentive payment.

 Non‐residential facilities on Utah rate schedules 6, 6A, 6B, 8, 9, 9A, 10, 12, 15, 21, 23, and Supplementary Service under Schedule 31 may participate.

Replace existing non‐programmable or residential thermostat with a commercial programmable thermostat with a minimum of 7‐day occupied/unoccupied settings.

Replace non‐programmable thermostat or residential thermostat with a commercial programmable smart thermostat with a minimum of 7‐day occupied/unoccupied settings. Smart thermostats must be Wi‐Fi enabled, online dashboard and/or mobile device app, with occupancy sensor enabled.
