Rocky Mountain Power celebrates National Drive Electric Week

SALT LAKE CITY — In celebration of National Drive Electric Week, Rocky Mountain Power hosted a vibrant Electric Vehicle Car Show today, bringing together EV enthusiasts and the community to explore the future of sustainable transportation.

The event featured a stunning array of electric vehicles from various manufacturers, offering attendees the chance to experience firsthand the innovative technology and benefits of driving electric. Participants enjoyed engaging in discussions with industry experts and learned valuable information on available incentives.

Additionally, it was an opportunity to explore RMP’s initiatives to promote EV adoption in Utah, including expanding charging infrastructure, Time of Use programs to help lower energy costs by shifting usage to off-peak hours and discounted charging rates available to RMP customers who use the company’s EV chargers.

“As electric vehicles emerge as a solution for clean air, Rocky Mountain Power recognizes the importance of accelerating the adoption of sustainable transportation alternatives,” said James Cambell, Rocky Mountain Power innovation and sustainability policy director. “We're partnering with organizations and agencies across Utah to promote electrification, providing a cleaner, more sustainable transportation option that benefits both our environment and our economy.”

Representatives from the Utah Transit Authority, Utah Department of Transportation, Electrify America, Utah Credit Union, Utah Clean Cities and Communities, Utah State University-Aspire and others joined the celebration. The event also featured live musical entertainment, food trucks, prize drawings, eBike demonstrations and more.
