Utah EV charger rebates for businesses and multifamily properties

Earn cash rebates for installing electric vehicle charging stations. Rebates can cover up to 75% of charger costs. Electric vehicle charging encourages clean transportation adoption and helps improve Utah’s air quality.

Rebates are available to Utah businesses, communities and multifamily properties for both AC Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers. To qualify, chargers must be new, UL certified or equivalent, and be purchased on or after January 1, 2026.

75% of total charger cost, up to $1,000 per charger

Charging rate >= 150 kW per port

75% of total charger cost, up to $42,000

Eligibility

  • Be a Rocky Mountain Power customer in Utah.
  • Buy and install electric vehicle charging equipment that is new equipment, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or equivalent certified by a National Recognized Testing Laboratory.
  • Chargers must be installed behind a meter not enrolled in a residential rate plan.
  • Submit an application within one year of the date of purchase.
  • Only new chargers purchased on or after January 1, 2026, are eligible for rebates. 

Program requirements

  • DC Fast Charger applications require pre-approval. Please submit an application prior to charger purchase.
  • AC Level 2 Charger applications are submitted after the charger(s) have been installed and energized.
  • Required documentation:
    • IRS Form W-9 (Rev. March 2024)
      Note: The W-9 is required for both the party whose name is on the Rocky Mountain Power account, and the party who is receiving the incentive, if different.
    • Itemized invoice showing the charger make, model and count.
    • Photos of installed chargers. This includes photos showing that the chargers are energized (which may include a closeup of a powered-on screen) and wide angle photos showing where the chargers are installed.

Program caps

  • Maximum incentive for dealerships is $60,000 per dealership location. 
  • Maximum incentive for non-dealerships is $200,000 per location.
