Renewable energy for community engagement

Across the West, Blue Sky participants are helping communities weave renewable energy into the places where people live, learn and gather. From city halls and community centers to schools and libraries, these projects reduce energy costs, support local services and strengthen resilience for years to come.

Saratoga Springs City Hall and Library

Located along the eastern shore of Utah Lake, the City of Saratoga Springs’ mission centers on enhancing the quality of life for its residents through community engagement, sustainable growth and careful infrastructure development. Saratoga Springs identified the need for a new city center, hosting a new City Hall and library, and prioritized renewable energy projects as a critical component for sustainable growth. The City was awarded Blue Sky funds to install solar and battery storage at the new City Hall and library. This project will help meet the city’s sustainability goals by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to improved air quality. In addition, reducing energy consumption will allow funding to be redirected to other community projects and services.

This project in Saratoga Springs is one of many ways Blue Sky participants like you are helping communities drive renewable energy while improving what matters most to residents.
