Free Energy-Saving Services for Income-Qualified Households

The Utah Weatherization Program helps income-qualified households reduce energy costs, improve home comfort, and increase the health and safety of their homes. Rocky Mountain Power partners with the Utah Department of Workforce Services and a network of local agencies to provide weatherization services at no cost to eligible customers.

Weatherization services can help households’ lower energy use, reduce utility bills, and create a more comfortable living environment year-round.

Weatherization services are designed to:

  • Enhance home health and safety

Households that receive weatherization services may experience significant energy savings after improvements are completed.

The program is available to income-qualified households throughout Utah. Priority may be given to:

  • Older adults
  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Households with high energy usage
  • Families with young children
  • Households facing energy-related emergencies

Eligibility requirements are determined by program guidelines and available funding.

Services are based on an individual home energy assessment and may include:

  • LED lighting installation
  • Refrigerator testing
  • Refrigerator replacement (when eligible)
  • Wall insulation
  • Floor insulation
  • Attic insulation
  • Duct sealing and insulation
  • Furnace ECM installation
  • Window improvements
  • Crisis cooling measures
  • Energy education and conservation tips

Not all measures are available for every home. Recommended improvements are determined through a professional assessment.
