Rocky Mountain Power prepares for windstorm

SALT LAKE CITY – Rocky Mountain Power is monitoring a storm system moving into the service territory Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. The weather forecast indicates strong easterly downslope winds along the Wasatch Front from Logan to Salt Lake City.

This storm system and downslope winds have the potential to cause weather-related outages including substantial damage to trees that could result in damage to Rocky Mountain Power lines.  As a reminder, treat all downed wires as live and dangerous. Customers should avoid both downed trees and downed powerlines, and ensure pets are kept far away from those areas.  Rocky Mountain Power has crews ready to respond and engage in restoration efforts.

Additional information about preparing for outages, and what to do if an outage occurs, is available at rockymountainpower.net.

It is important for all customers to report power outages, as this assists crews in pinpointing the causes of outages and completing restoration efforts as quickly and safely as possible.
