Express

Express lighting incentives cover up to 70% of the cost to install qualifying LED lighting. Lighting Express allows for smaller or routine projects to apply for incentives with minimal paperwork and a shorter processing time.

Apply for incentives with a post-purchase application

  1. Identify which fixtures to upgrade at your facility.
  2. Purchase qualified fixtures or retrofit kits from a vendor of your choice.
  3. Install new fixtures or retrofit kits in your Idaho facility and enjoy the savings!
  4. Complete and submit the lighting post-purchase application and provide a completed IRS Form W-9.
  5. Receive rebate check within 45 days of completion of Step 4.

Notes for express lighting system retrofit incentives:
  1. To be eligible for the incentives listed, the new lighting system must use less energy than the existing lighting system being replaced or the baseline lighting system as determined by Rocky Mountain Power.
  2. Incentives are capped at 70% of Energy Efficiency Project Costs and will not be available to reduce the Energy Efficiency Project simple payback below one year. Energy Efficiency Project costs are subject to Rocky Mountain Power approval.
  3. The Customer or Owner may receive only one financial incentive from Rocky Mountain Power per measure. Incentives listed in the table above cannot be combined with incentives received either through the Prescriptive Small and Medium Business Express offer, non-prescriptive typical offer, or the Wattsmart Homes program.
  4. Projects with existing controls are not eligible for Express or Small and Medium Business Express incentives. See the Non-Prescriptive offer for available incentive options.
  5. Qualified eligible retrofit lighting equipment is defined in qualified equipment lists posted on Rocky Mountain Power’s website and in the “Qualified Lighting Equipment Policy” section at the end of the lighting catalog.
  6. Qualified make and model numbers need to be entered into lighting calculator tool or application forms.
  7. Energy savings are subject to approval and will be offered at Rocky Mountain Power’s discretion. Energy Efficiency Project costs are subject to Rocky Mountain Power approval.
  8. Certain lighting technologies/upgrades have been deemed ineligible for incentives. See the “Ineligible Lighting Technologies” section at the end of this catalog.
  9. Lighting system redesign that significantly alters system layouts and/or light levels or is driven by changes to space use, space occupancy or occupant requirements may not be eligible for Express Lighting incentives. Express applications must be a “like for like” retrofit that is usually defined as “lumen for lumen”. Industry accepted wattage reduction practices should be applied.
  10. Streetlighting not eligible for Express incentives.

Incentives for lighting retrofits

Get cash incentives and technical expertise for lighting upgrades. You can choose a Wattsmart® Business Trade Ally or an independent energy consultant for a lighting analysis.

  1. Before you start your project, contact us or a Wattsmart® Business Trade Ally and complete a general application. We will need to verify existing equipment through an inspection to establish an energy baseline.
  2. We provide an offer letter for you to sign before you order equipment. You provide your tax ID in a completed W-9 form so we (or our program administrator) can prepare a 1099-Misc. (if required) following the incentive payment.
  3. Upgrade your lighting. 
  4. Submit project cost documentation including invoices with a breakdown of materials and labor. Then, contact Rocky Mountain Power or your Wattsmart Business Vendor for a post-installation inspection.
  5. Receive incentive check within 45 days of completion of step 4.

Incentives for new construction/major renovation

Get cash incentives and technical expertise for lighting installed as part of new construction/major renovation. You can choose a Wattsmart® Business Trade Ally or an independent energy consultant for technical expertise.

  1. Before you start your project, contact us or a Wattsmart® Business Trade Ally and complete a general application.
  2. We provide project pre-qualification. Be sure you receive pre-qualification before you order equipment. You provide your tax ID in a completed W-9 form so we (or our program administrator) can prepare a 1099-Misc. (if required) following the incentive payment.
  3. Complete your new construction/major renovation project.
  4. Submit project cost documentation including invoices with a breakdown of materials and labor. Then, contact Rocky Mountain Power, a post-installation inspection may be required.
  5. Receive incentive check within 45 days of completion of step 4.
