Nothing is more important to us than delivering the affordable, reliable power you need. In fact, we work day and night, in good weather and bad, to power everything you do.
Our reliability track record is 99.98%, and we’re going even further with new and better ways to deliver your power.
We’re learning from each outage and using advanced technology to pinpoint areas for improvement. From proactive tree pruning to safeguards on power poles that protect birds and wildlife, we’re applying innovative solutions to deliver the energy you need.
We go to great lengths to keep our grid safe and reliable for our customers. In 2020, we will be upgrading power lines and substations throughout our growing service areas with 210 planned improvement projects.
We are piloting the use of smart grid technology, which makes our system more reliable and resilient, allowing us to automatically reroute power in the event of an outage. The result: outages that are less common and less extensive.
If there’s a service interruption, we will notify you so you can plan your day. You decide how you want to be notified – by text, email or phone. And you can always track and report outages online, through our app or by phone.
Power flickers or momentary outages can sometimes happen. Due to a number of factors inside and outside your home, the voltage of your electric service can vary slightly. Most of the time you won't even notice these voltage variations, but electronic equipment can be very sensitive to even small, split-second electricity fluctuations.
Devices such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and surge protectors can help protect your equipment from power fluctuations. Look for UL TVSS 1449 certification rating from an independent test lab such as UL (Underwriters Laboratories) or ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories).
