When there are unexpected events impacting demand for electricity, Rocky Mountain Power dispatches our demand response network, which is made up of local organizations that have agreed to reduce energy usage. Program participants earn incentive payments for agreeing to be on standby and for curtailing electricity consumption.

Program participants can earn financial incentives up to $100/kilowatt for participation in the advanced dispatch or real-time program. Program participants who participate in both programs (advanced and real-time) can earn incentives up to $175/kilowatt. Participation incentives are calculated based on customers load available for curtailment throughout the year and by participating in called events.  For example, a customer has 5 MWs of load that is available for curtailment throughout the entire year and participates in all 10 of the demand response events. The customer would be receive a $500,000 incentive (available load 5,000 kW x $100 per kW x participation rate 100% = Incentive $500,000).  Example; Customer has 2 MWs of load available for curtailment throughout the year and participates in 5 of the 10 demand response events. The customer would receive a $100,000 incentive (available load 2,000 kW x $100 per kW x participation rate 50% = $100,000).

1. Our expert team will work with you to identify your energy reduction potential and create a strategy that delivers maximum value with minimum impact to your operations. We outline these measures in a detailed Energy Reduction Plan.
2. We install necessary metering devices at your facility to establish communication with our Network Operations Center (NOC), so we can monitor your energy consumption levels in real-time.
3. Your site is then enrolled and ready to respond when a dispatch begins. With your Enel X metering, log into apps.enelx.com at any time during a dispatch to view your real-time performance.
4. Throughout the process, we fully manage enrollment, measurement, verification, and payments on your behalf.

Notification: When Rocky Mountain Power calls an event, it dispatches the network into action. Enel X will notify you via email, phone or SMS, depending on your preferences, to inform you when the dispatch will begin.

Response: At the start of the dispatch, you will reduce the electricity usage at your facility according to your predetermined Energy Reduction Plan—via automated control or manually.

Support: Before, during and after a dispatch, our NOC remains in communication with your facility. Our staff is available 24x7x365, supporting you to ensure that you achieve the highest possible levels of performance and payments.
