Millcreek Canyon Wildfire Mitigation Project

The Millcreek Canyon Wildfire Mitigation project will relocate the overhead distribution lines underground within Millcreek Canyon Road. The installation is scheduled from May to November 2022 and extends from the Fee Station to the Winter Gate. The project coincides with the Salt Lake County Road paving project and future expansion work conducted through the Federal Lands Access Program.

There will be subsequent phases along the circuit that will either add underground branches of the circuit or replace the overhead circuit with a covered conductor eliminating the potential for a tree or branch to come into contact with a wire creating a fire. The covered conductor option will look nearly identical to the existing distribution circuit configuration.
