  • Nation’s largest phase-shifting transformer takes up residence in Monticello

    Rocky Mountain Power’s Pinto substation outside Monticello just became home to the largest phase-shifting power transformer in the United States – the second largest in the world. Once fully assembled and on-line, the unit will weigh approximately 2.5 million pounds.

  • Lower bills for Utah customers take effect Nov. 1

    Lower rates for providing electricity will be reflected on customer electric bills effective Nov. 1. The adjustment will reduce bills by an overall average of 0.8 percent, or about $15.5 million. A typical residential customer using 698 kilowatt-hours per month will pay about $6.14 less on their annual bill.
