Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House Solar

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area (RMD Charities) recently renovated and expanded the Ronald McDonald House, which provides temporary housing to families of seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment at Salt Lake City area hospitals. RMD Charities installed a 50.05 kilowatt roof-mounted solar array on the original RMD building and the parking canopy. The purpose of the project is to lower power bills to help increase funds for families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House.

An interactive solar monitoring kiosk in the RMD House lobby educates the 3,000 annual visitors about solar power and Rocky Mountain Power’s Blue Sky program.
