Artspace Solar Gardens

artspace solar gardens

Artspace is a not-for-profit developer providing multi-use spaces for artists, nonprofits and other cultural organizations. Their newest facility, the Artspace Solar Gardens is anticipated to be the first net-zero multi-family building with on-site solar production in the state of Utah.

This Blue Sky-supported solar array is 312-kilowatts (334 rooftop solar panels and 525 solar panels on a surface parking structure) and will not only reduce the building’s footprint, but also reduce the costs for their low- and moderate-income tenants.

The reclaimed site housing Artspace Solar Gardens was previously a metal scrap-yard and recycling facility. This project will provide an opportunity to educate the public about renewable energy while demonstrating how a mixed-use, high performance building can be powered by solar and how a solar installation can be part of a building’s visual aesthetic design.
