Pumps & Other Usage

Only run pumps for as long as they are needed. If the pump is always in use, make sure that it cycles on and off and does not run continuously.
With swimming pool pumps, check the manufacturer's recommendations or consult the dealer from whom you bought the pump to determine how long or often you should run your pump. This may vary by season and geographic region.
Use a thermostat or timer with heating tape. Otherwise costs for unnecessary heating can add up quickly.
If you are able to do so, put your dehumidifier on a timer and use it only as needed.
