Inverted Rates
In 2009, the Wyoming Public Service Commission approved a new pricing structure for residential customers. The rate structure encourages customers to use energy efficiently and keep their usage lower.
Rates that encourage energy efficiency
The energy charge for usage up to 500 kilowatt-hours (kwh) per month is about 4.6 cents per kwh, which is less than the previous rate of 7 cents per kwh. If a residential customer uses more than 500 kwh in a month, each kwh over 500 will cost approximately 10 cents per kwh.
