Home Energy Raters
ENERGY STAR® qualified homes must be verified and certified. The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rater inspects the project on-site and collects all the information needed to verify compliance with ENERGY STAR home standards. The HERS rater directly confirms the proper selection and installation of specifications with nominal values and labels (e.g., insulation, windows, appliances).
As independent businesses, HERS raters offer various services to builders. They will be able to assist you in discussing pricing, testing protocols, training for sub-contractors and staff, and inquiries about the value and range of services that are best for your company.
