Long-Range Electrical Plans

Utah is growing. To support that growth, Rocky Mountain Power adds hundreds of new customers every month. In addition, per-capita demand is increasing. Since Rocky Mountain Power is required by law to supply its customers' electrical needs, future growth will require system expansion to provide adequate electrical capacity.

A task force of community leaders and key stakeholders have worked together with an independent facilitator and Rocky Mountain Power to create a plan to keep pace with long-term growth of Salt Lake, Summit and Wasatch Counties. The goal is to integrate local long-term development plans with electrical network plans to ensure adequate capacity for communities to grow and prosper.
