Weber School District Case Study

Keeping the Heat Off Energy Costs

During Utah’s long cooling season, it can be challenging to keep energy costs down while maintaining comfortable temperatures at your business. Weber School District found a way to do both by taking advantage of our FinAnswer® Express program to install high-efficiency cooling equipment in several district schools.

Efficiency, reliability improves

Recently, the district’s Uintah Elementary School in Ogden was experiencing difficulties with its cooling system. Rather than choosing to replace the three aging rooftop air conditioning units with similar models, the school district saw a perfect opportunity to upgrade to high-efficiency three-phase packaged rooftop units.

“We’re saving time on maintenance and the comfort at the school has gone way up,” said James Child, an energy manager for the school district.

Weber School District has received a total of more than $39,000 in Rocky Mountain Power incentives for its energy-saving projects. In addition, the district is saving an estimated 285,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity and more than $14,000 in energy costs every year.
