Jamie Galileo can quickly name two reasons why energy efficiency is a winning proposition at EnergySolutions Arena – home of the Utah Jazz – and other Larry H. Miller Group of Companies venues.

“First, it’s the right thing to do,” said Galileo, vice president of facilities of Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment Group. “Whatever power we’re not using can be used by somebody else, which means another power plant may not need to be built. That’s good for the environment.”

The other reason? “Lower electrical consumption equals smaller bills,” he said.

Since 2003, the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies has received more than $187,000 in incentives from our Energy FinAnswer® and FinAnswer® Express programs for energy-efficient lighting and HVAC upgrades at EnergySolutions Arena and other facilities.

These improvements save the organization approximately 1.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and nearly $114,000 in energy costs every year.

Galileo said he likes the flexibility our energy efficiency programs offer. “We take a look at factors like return on investment and timetable for a project to see what’s best for us. Some fit well under FinAnswer Express, some fit better under Energy FinAnswer and now we’ve found one that is really well suited to the Self-Direction Credit program.”
