August 20, 2010

CASPER, Wyo. – Rocky Mountain Power, its customers and employees have joined together to provide energy assistance funds to help Wyoming families in need. Donations received through the Energy Share of Wyoming program are used to help Wyoming families in crisis meet their energy needs throughout the year. Contributions during 2009-2010 totaled $70,000 – $49,525 from Rocky Mountain Power and $20,475 from its customers and employees.

“We appreciate the donations our Wyoming customers and employees have provided to Energy Share of Wyoming. Many people have contributed significantly to this assistance program,” said Leslie Blythe, Rocky Mountain Power customer and community manager.

Funds raised through donations are distributed by The Salvation Army directly to those who need assistance. During the 2009-2010 program year, energy assistance was provided to 485 Wyoming households.

“The Energy Share of Wyoming program makes a vital difference for many people facing difficult circumstances,” said Kyla Montoya, The Salvation Army. “The donations from Rocky Mountain Power, its customers and its employees provide a needed resource to help people facing an energy-related crisis.”

“Rocky Mountain Power joins with other utilities in Wyoming to help families in crisis,” Montoya said. “Working together and with support from Rocky Mountain Power, its customers and employees, we can provide a helping hand to even more people this year.”

Donations to Energy Share of Wyoming can be made through donation envelopes included with Rocky Mountain Power bills in November, February and June.
