PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning awards $10,000 to northern Utah nonprofits

OGDEN, Utah — Utah Power’s charitable arm, the PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning, has awarded $10,000 to nonprofit organizations in northern Utah this spring for health and human services programs.

“We are pleased to support programs that will benefit northern Utah families in need of assistance through the PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning,” said Steve Rush, Utah Power regional community manager. “The foundation awards four grant cycles annually in the areas of education, health and human services, arts and culture and civic and community betterment.”

The following programs received PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning funding:

  • Your Community Connection of Ogden/North Ogden – $5,000 for Spanish-speaking domestic violence victim support groups,
  • Midtown Community Health Center (Ogden) – $2,500 for the Health Access Team program to increase access to health care services for uninsured, low-income residents in the Ogden area and
  • Common Ground Outdoor Adventures (Logan) – $2,500 for adaptive cycling and cross-country ski clinics for special education classes in Cache Valley and Preston, Idaho.

Additionally, the PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning recently matched Utah Power employee donations from the utility’s 2005 employee giving campaign for a combined contribution of more than $2,000 to United Way of Northern Utah.
