WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Utah Power volunteers will hold a yard sale at the electric utility’s Wasatch Call Center, on Saturday,
August 6, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., to raise funds to help support Junior Achievement of Utah. The Wasatch Call Center is located
at 4171 West Lake Park Avenue (2700 South).
“Together with the PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning, Utah Power volunteers have helped provide more than $27,000 for Junior
Achievement programs this past year, in addition to nearly 185 hours of classroom participation,” said Karen Gilmore, Utah
Power Vice President of Customer Services. “The items for this weekend’s yard sale to benefit Junior Achievement were donated
by Utah Power employees. We encourage the community to help support this important program for Utah students.”
Junior Achievement is a volunteer driven, nonprofit organization, with a purpose to educate and inspire young people to value
free enterprise and understand business and economics, in order to improve the quality of their lives. This year, more than
2,000 business professionals, parents, retirees and college students will teach Junior Achievement programs in Utah schools.
Classroom programs are taught in communities across the United States and in more than 103 countries worldwide. For more information,

Utah Power supports Junior Achievement through volunteer assistance in the classroom and by sponsoring fund raising activities.
This year, 50 Utah Power employees volunteered a total of nearly 185 hours in Utah elementary schools, teaching students about
business. Additionally, Utah Power volunteers raised more than $9,000 for the program through fundraisers. Utah Power was
recognized by Junior Achievement of Utah for the largest increased performance this year, out of 32 companies. Employees who
helped to organize volunteer efforts were also recognized with a PacifiCorp Spirit of Excellence Award, the highest employee
honor awarded by the utility.
The PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning, the charitable arm of Utah Power, awarded $18,000 to Junior Achievement of Utah in
June 2005, providing the opportunity for all students in three elementary schools to participate in the program. The PacifiCorp
Foundation awards four cycles of grants annually in the areas of education, health and welfare, community and the arts. For
