Since 1965, the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) has taught leadership and wilderness skills on backcountry expeditions
around the world. Funding from Rocky Mountain Power’s Blue Sky program recently enabled NOLS Rocky Mountain to install a solar
array, consisting of 36 photovoltaic panels, on the roof of the school’s main building in Lander. Over a year’s time, the
system is expected to produce about 10,640 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy to help power the school. By producing renewable
energy on-site, NOLS is contributing to improved air quality and habitat protection.
