Sundance not only made a large commitment to renewable power through Blue Sky, it helped launch a community challenge to double
its environmental benefit.
On May 14, 2004, Sundance Village teamed with Rocky Mountain Power and Utah Clean Energy Alliance to launch the challenge.
Called Ride the Wind, the campaign encourages community residents to match Sundance's purchase of 183 blocks of Blue Sky per
month.
Their purchases makes a big impact: over a year, 183 blocks of Blue Sky wind energy provides environmental benefits equivalent
to taking 38 cars off the road each year or planting 86 acres of trees.
Purchasing just one block of Blue Sky nets environmental benefits: purchasing one block - over a period of a year (1,200 kWh
of wind energy) is equivalent to not driving more than 2,500 miles.
Customers who participate in the Sundance’s Ride the Wind campaign receive an incentive: Those who buy three or more blocks
of wind power per month will receive two complimentary tickets for Ray's (100% wind powered ) lift - used during the summer
months by hikers and mountain bikers.
As of June 2004, Sundance is halfway toward its goal. Customers who want to sign up for Blue Sky can call Rocky Mountain Power
